How do I know the activites are safe?No activities are without risk. We try to minimise the risk by using qualified and trained staff and by subscribing to the various national governing sporting bodies. We are inspected and approved by AALA and are AALA registered (Licence No: L42642) - this licence is granted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), acting as the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. In order to ensure the safety of students, we adhere to a strict 1:8 instructor to pupil ratio. All of our instructors hold full first aid certification with enhanced DBS checks in place. We are members of RoSPA and the lake and parkland are monitored by their staff.

How much is car parking?Any members of Manvers Waterfront Boat Club get free parking included in their membership (your registration number is entered onto our system and we have 'number recognition cameras'). For any other visitors the suggested donation costs are: Up to 2 hours - £2 2 to 4 hours - £3 All day - £4 Please note: Car park locked at 8pm All vehicles left at owners risk No overnight parking

Can anyone use the lake?In order to use the lake and surrounding parkland recreationally you must be a member of 'Manvers Waterfront Boat Club'. Please see their website for further information at:

Do you have CCTV?Yes. The boathouse vicinity including car park and foreshore have multiple cameras. The lake has some CCTV coverage, one of which is available to the public via our website. Abuse, assaults on staff, poaching, trespassing and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and all incidents are logged and reported to the police. In some instances the Trust will take legal action itself. The police do come and view the footage from our CCTV.

We are a small company looking for places to run some paddlesport sessions and we just need access to water, can you help?Yes it is possible to use the lake if you have your own kit, insurance and instructors. There would be a launch fee of £15 per person and we would require the following information from you: Date and time you wish to use the lake How many people this would be for A copy of your qualifications for the activity you wish to run A copy of your public liability insurance Please email the above information through and we will get back to you on once we have checked availability on info@manverslaketrust.co.uk Please note: We are a 'Check, Clean & Dry' facility.
